Morning Bus
Heading over to Delphi now. Delphi was this great religious site for the Greeks. On the way, i saw this AWESOME RAINBOW. Simple pleasures in life.
2. It is taking all my patience to not get up and tell some of these idiots on the buss to shut up. My neurons die everytime they talk. So blaring the headphones :)
3. The power stuff is SO weird over here. You have to wathc these sockets all the time.
So here is the info i learnt today. The tallest mountain in Greece is Mount Olympus and it is absolutely gorgeous. This part of Greece has loads of Ski resorts...no snow covered mountains right now though. Everything is pristine....and so beautiful.
The Greek myth goes that the greeks saw goats jumping around from a ledge over here at Delphi. That made them think that this is a sacred site, and therefore they built the temple of Athena over here. Here, oracles were received, first by Mother earth and then Apollo himself. Current research shows that there is a fault under the ground over here, and there are traces of Sulpher Ethylene, which causes hallucination.....mmm....maybe there is some truth to that!
Greece is almost the size of New Jersey. 11 million people today. Been through alot of stuff. Our tour guide is so passionate about her stuff. I really like that! These Greeks are winning my heart. They were pretan ancient Greek Germans. The swatsika is an ancient Greek symbol, however it doesnt mean anything. More that 2 million greeks died of starvation during the Nazi occupation.
Biggest Greek occupied city ourside of Greece is Melbourne Australia
It is nice over here. I shall be fully tanned by the time i come back. Sunscreen is like 40 euros.....ROFL...i feel happy to be brown
Here a quick thought. What is the basis of all this greek mythology? It was used by the folks to explain stuff, with reasoning. It has lessons in it. For example, consider the myth of Oedypus rex. It talks about his arrogance, how he assumed rubbish and ended up causing disaster in alot of folks life. The spartan kings questioned, even the auricles. So it is a message of hope, and about thought and taking responsibility....very cool.
mm...done writting now, thought there is loads more to write
GREEK WORD OF THE DAY:
MALAKA= IDIOT
this made me laugh. both the sunscreen and the hallucination comments. i'm sending you boatloads of patience to hold you through your fellow travelers. i think you may have just inspired me to move greek up on the next-trip-out-of-the-country list ..
